Vera is a municipality in the Spanish province of Almería in the Andalusia region with an area of 58 km². In 2010, Vera had 14,371 inhabitants. The main town of the same name in the municipality is a village located 10 kilometers from the coast. The territory of the municipality extends to the coast; the seaside resort that emerged there, called Vera Playa , now provides the most important economic activity.

Vera is a prosperous town six kilometers from the coast that has much to offer, with many shops, restaurants rich in traditional crafts and tempting dishes including Spanish tapas - small plates of traditional dishes and delicacies. Playas de Vera, as the name suggests, is along the coast and offers a wide range of activities with lush golf courses and beautiful clubhouses, a water park with slides and spinning slides, shops and, of course, white sandy beaches complete with umbrella seagrass, palm trees and sparkling sea.
Since 1990, Vera Playa has developed into an important center for naturism. Some complexes with apartments have been built, such as Natsun, La Manera, Bahia de Vera and Vera Natura, where naturism is officially allowed. One and a half kilometers of beach is intended for naturism. There is also the only naturist hotel in Spain, the Vera Playa Club Hotel.
A short drive away you will find the beautiful historic towns of Águilas and Lorca . Where you can enjoy shopping, dining or strolling through those typical narrow old Spanish streets. The towns of Garrucha and Mojácar are within a 30-minute radius.
