In the region of Valencia, many people wear traditional Valencian clothing on Saint Joseph's Day. Many men wear decorative shirts, cardigans and hand-woven scarves with long fringes. Many women wear long, wide dresses made of richly colored fabrics. They also wear jewelry and hand-woven, knitted or crocheted scarves.

St Joseph is often depicted with a carpenter's tools, sometimes with the infant Jesus and a staff on which a lily blooms.
