Los Alcazares is a municipality in the Spanish province of Murcia ( Costa Calida ) in the Murcia region with an area of 20 km². Los Alcázares was formed on October 13, 1983 from parts of the municipalities of San Javier and Torre-Pacheco. The municipality borders the following municipalities: Torre-Pacheco, Cartagena and San Javier.

The name of Los Alcázares comes from the Arabic Al-Kazar, which means castle. The Arabs already used Los Alcázares as a summer residence. In the late 19th century the area became a popular holiday destination for the Spanish. Many bathhouses, built of wood with long ramps that run into the sea, date from this time.
Today the municipality has more than 15,000 permanent residents. This number is significantly higher in the summer months when Spaniards from the cities of Cartagena and Murcia move into their summer residences.
Time seems to have stood still in Hotel Balneario La Encarnación. The traditionally famous bathhouse is now a beautiful restaurant where you can enjoy one of the delicious specialties at any time of the day. The beautifully designed golf courses of Serena Golf and Roda Golf are located on the edge of the village and offer a challenge for the avid golfers among us.
