Church of the Grito - A statue of Miguel Hidalgo is located in front of the church in Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato. The Cry of Dolores was spoken from the town of Dolores Hidalgo, near Guanajuato, Mexico, on September 16, 1810. This event marked the beginning of the Mexican War of Independence. The people celebrate September 16, as there is no scientific consensus on what has been spoken by Hidalgo at the time. The correct words of the most famous Mexican speeches are still known today, as they appear in multiple variants because there are history people to reproduce them.
Vinedos Cuna de Tierra - This famous tourist spot in Dolores is a favorite among visitors. Some of the visitors had preconceptions about Mexican wines offered here, but this was proven wrong with their visits. The place offers various delicious foodswith a healthy plate of meat, cheese and bread, along with locally produced olive oil. The local vineyards on a light gray set of modern cement buildings are a pure pleasure to visit and experience though the way to the tasting room is a bit skeptical. The place is about two hours north of San Miguel de Allende by road
Casa Museo Jose Alfredo Jimenez - This castle recalls ancient architecture as visitors love the murals and explanations by the guides. Many people have been heard talking about getting nostalgic as they walk through the different rooms and read about José Alfredo's life while his music plays in the background. His grave is beautifully made.

Dolores is believed to have local steppe type climate as it receives very little rainfall throughout the year. The climate here is classified as BSh type as per Koppen and Geiger classification system. The city has an average annual temperature of 18.3 °C. August is the warmest month of the year, while January is the coldest month of the year. These have an average temperature of 26.3 °C and 10.9 °C respectively. There is variation of 15.4 °C of temperature throughout the year. The city receives an average rainfall of 287mm per year. October is the wettest month of the year with an average rainfall of 56mm. On the other hand, July is the driest month of the year with an average rainfall of 3 mm. There is a difference of 53mm of rainfall between the wettest and driest months of the year
